Good evening chaps in Ryan. I'm primarily a hgv tech from Wigan but I get dragged into doing our car and van diagnostic more often than not.

Have we got any more truck/commercial vehicle techs in the network?

As HGV techs we'd love to have some case studies of the faults you see, how you deal with them and what kit you use. It would put a nice slant on what we do with the small stuff.
I'd be happy to add an HGV / commercial section if it would get used πŸ‘

I worked on trucks years ago when I was apprentice, and just started working on them again over the past 6 months. Hgv section would be great πŸ‘, I have a customer who runs 2 merc 8x4 tippers and 2 MAN tarmac trucks .
I have autocom scan tool for trucks , great tool so far

I started out on LPG tankers- it had good days and bad days πŸ˜‚ little forklift, tractor, digger and lorry stuff never a dull moment and the craic in the workshop was always lethal- about the only part I miss of it 🀣🀣🀣

I am the opposite of you, I have always been just cars and lgv up until 4years ago. Now I where I work we have a hgv workshop as well and always get dragged down there when my boss (merc trained hgv tech) is too busy, I quite like the bigger stuff now abit easier to get to stuff just more and longer cables

That's one thing I found out working with fleet as there was a good amount of vans. working on them in many aspects was more of a pain in the arse, hence all the over techs would avoid them like the plauge and I would end up with them unfortunately.😞

Needless to say I'm not missing them with having moved to dealer.

Would that be a well known American rental company?
Yes it would be, not a bad guess. 😁

Left school and qualified as a diesel plant fitter worked on nothing but CAT in Africa from 926 Cat front end loaders to 120G Cat graiders, 926 Cat scrapers and some of the bigger stuff D8 Cat Bull Dozers sadly never worked on any of the huge Cat Dumper trucks as we built roads and did not do much mining. Them where the good old days. We would have beers at lunch to keep rehydrated no such thing as health and safety in Africa πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
