Vauxhall Omega weird fault

Hi All, I have two identical Vauxhall Omega 2.5 d cars, they have stood for a while because of the virus, one started right away, the other one was stone dead, after fitting a new battery, I found that when I touched the - lead to the - battery terminal, I was getting more sparks than I would like, when I sat in the car with the ignition off and key out, the clock panel was illuminating but very strangely, when the - battery lead was touched on the - battery terminal, nowhere near how it should be when the key is in the ignition and turned on, at the same time, I can hear a clicking noise from the left glovebox area, could I have a relay fault?
